If I start to see algae, I squirt some algaecide in the pool along with a couple bags of this stuff, scrub the algae with a brush, and it clears it up within a couple days. It does leave a slight residue on the surface of the water, but I usually just mix it a bit with my leaf skimmer. It does have more of a chlorine smell that goes away in a couple hours. Highly recommended!
I really like Clearview Shimmering-N shock and so I decided to try this product. It clears the pool and works fine. It does have a residual chlorine smell and so I only gave it 4 stars. Will probably only use for heavy duty blooms in the summer heaven forbid.
